Washington state intl kite festival - seven days of the most amazing kite flying ever with kite flyers from around the world. bring your kite and join the fun... rod run to the end of the world - thousands of classic cars flock to the peninsula for this annual event. the main events are held at wilson field in ocean park - you*ll see these amazing cars all over the peninsula. baker bay kayak/canoe race - 10k flatwater, circular course open to all ages and ability levels. the race limited to 100 participants divided into 9 divisions, so register early. wild mushroom celebration - participating restaurants, inns and bed and breakfast establishments offer daily wild mushroom specials. wild mushroom workshops, field excursions and prix-fixe dinners are also offered. annual beach to chowder 10k run and 5k walk walk or run a 5k or run a 10k on hard packed sand. 9 age divisions for the runners and chowder at the end of the event... southwest washington anglers sturgeon derby - big prizes. entrants receive an official derby t-shirt and a ticket to the spaghetti dinner. this popular derby fills up fast, so sign up early. then head to chinook to watch the action... relay for life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money to help the american cancer society. during the event, teams of people gather at theh ilwaco high school track and take turns walking or running laps. each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
